Food 4 Thought - Topeka

Thursday, September 15, 2016 8:00 AM - 9:15 AM

Food 4 Thought - A Conversation about Hunger & Health with Community Thought Leaders

You are invited to hear from two naturopathic doctors who understand the challenges of buying and preparing nutritious food. Discover how you can improve your energy, mood and long-term health just by your food choices.

Dr. Julie Briley and Dr. Courtney Jackson, co-founders of the Food as Medicine Institute and authors of Food as Medicine Everyday, know food is the ultimate connector, bringing friends, families and communities together. They also know food is medicine and that some simple changes can help anyone balance their blood sugar and hormones, improve digestion, reduce stress and support a healthy heart. They have found that true healing often takes place in a kitchen and at a dinner table when highly processed and nutrient-poor foods are no longer served.

Everyone who attends this event will receive a copy of Drs. Briley and Jackson's book and have an opportunity to learn more about how Harvesters-The Community Food Network is working to provide the healthiest and most nutritious food possible to hungry families, children and seniors in our community and how working together we can help make our community stronger and healthier.

Breakfast and networking from 8-8:30 a.m. with the program starting promptly at 8:30 a.m. and ending by 9:15 a.m.
